Jharsuguda: Members of Kosal Kranti Dal (KKD) had staged a protest in front of collectorate office in demand of separate Kosal state and also against the demand for separate status to the Odisha which is claimed to be underdeveloped by BJD. In this regard, the members have submitted a memorandum addressed to PM through Jharsuguda Collector.
KKD raised the questions where the poverty of Odisha lies? Is it in Coastal Odisha or in South West Region of the state which is the proposed Kosal Pradesh?
The Central President of KKD Bunde Dhurva said that, “In Kosal region , we have a lots of natural resources through which we are giving around 27,000 Cr. to the State Government but in return the government is spending 80 Cr. for Western Odisha due to which it is undeveloped.”
He added “Now BJD has gone Delhi in demand of a special category tag for Odisha by showing us as an undeveloped region. They will get the status and by that money only coastal regions will be developed and we will be neglected as usual. So we are against the demand of Special Category Status of Odisha. Additionally, we want an enquiry into the forged signature done in this concern.”
Dist. President of Sambalpur, Upendra Mahapatra said that “Our main demand today is that BJD party today are meeting President of India in Delhi in demand of special category status to Odisha by taking false signatures. They are only showing a village as the criteria for fulfillment of their demand. Whole Odisha has been developed but only Western Odisha has been undeveloped. IT has been done purposely so that they can do business like this. In western Odisha various problems like baby selling’s, Farmers Suicide etc are been faced but they are showing this region to get money and they want to spend on themselves rather spending on western Odisha.
So, we strongly against the demand of separate status for Odisha rather want a separate Kosal state by which the development would be possible.”
Central Secretary General, Purna Chandra Naik, Benudhar Mahapatra Bargarh President Suvendra Sahu , President of Jharsuguda KKD along with many others were present.
