Bhubanеswar: Chief Minister Navееn Patnaik has granted approval for the establishment of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda district, allocating a budget of Rs 24.48 crore for the project. The funding will be drawn from the district mineral fund, recognising Jharsuguda as a prominent mining region requiring skilled manpower for mining and related activities. The decision to establish the ITI aims to add to this need for skilled work force in the area.
The newly proposed ITI in Lakhanpur will offer training in nine different subjects. The allotted funds are earmarked for the construction of the institute’s infrastructure and the procurement of necessary tools and equipment. This strategic initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to enhancing vocational training and meeting the specific skill demands of the mining sector in Jharsuguda district.
