Medical Shops Closed in the District for All India Strike of AIOCD
Jharsuguda : Medical shops in the District were closed in wake of All India strike on 10th May 2013. In this regard a rally was organized from Sarbahal to the Collectorate office where all the members of the Jharsuguda Chemist Association had staged a Dharna. The Main Demands of association were
1. Maintaining the trade margins of the medicines and not to reduce in fourth coming Drugs (Price Control) order 2003
2. To resolve the long pending issue of shortage of Pharmacists
3. To give relief under sec � 19 of the drug & Cosmetics Act 1940, to the innocent dealer who may have acted with bona fide intentions.
4. Foreign Direct Investments � FDI should not be permitted in distribution and retailing of medicines as there are families of 25 Lakh ( More than one Cr. populations) employees are subsisting on this livelihood through employment in this sector
