Jharsuguda : In a significant stride towards environmental sustainability, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration of Jharsuguda. This collaboration aims to provide financial assistance of ?2.84 crore for the ‘Tall Seedling Avenue Plantation’ project along both sides of the Biju Expressway.
The MoU was formally signed by SK Sinha, General Manager (CSR) of MCL, and Manu Ashok Bhat, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Jharsuguda. This initiative is part of MCL�s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
The ‘Tall Seedling Avenue Plantation’ project is poised to enhance the green cover along the Biju Expressway, contributing to improved air quality, ecological balance, and aesthetic appeal of the region. By nurturing and maintaining tall seedlings, the project aims to create a lasting environmental impact that will benefit the community and future generations.
