Jharsuguda : After Ex-India Opener Wasim Jaffer was appointed as a head coach for Odisha, the state cricket board (OCA) announced several coaches for the various age-group teams for the session 2021-22. Among them, Shovan Deb of Jharsuguda has been re-appointed as a Bowling Coach of the Under-19 age group.
Shovan Deb was appointed as a coach of Under-19 in the year 2012-13, he was again appointed as a coach for Under-23 in the year 2013-14, after that in the year 2017-18, he was appointed as a Junior Selector and in the year 2020, he was appointed as a bowling coach for Under-19 cricket team.
“I am very happy for getting re-appointed as a Bowling coach for under-19, due to Covid pandemic in the year 2020, nothing happened much. However, we are quite hopeful that this year, will be a promising year for everyone under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Wasim Jaffer ji, under his leadership, would also get an opportunity to learn from him. His induction will certainly boost Odisha Cricket. Secondly, the steps are taken to promote and bring out the grass-root cricket players by opening up Cricket Academy in the state is really a praiseworthy step taken by the government for promoting cricket.†said Shovan Deb.
