42nd Inter College Athletic Meet kicks off at L.N. College,Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda, December 4th: �42nd Inter College Athletic Meet was kicked off on Tuesday at Jharsuguda Laxmi Narayan College. As per the officials L.N. College has hosted this event for the second time since 1979. At least 209 athletes from 37 colleges along with 50 officials affiliated under Sambalpur University have come to take part in various athletic competitions. Athletics from Sambalpur, Rajgangpur, Khariar, Bargarh, Bolangir, Loisinga, Sohella, Sundergarh, Rourkela, Padampur, Attabira, Belpahar, Barjarjanagar, Boudh, Bamra, Patnagarh, Burla, Birmaharajpur, Kuchinda and Belpahar have been participating in this event.
This two-day Inter College Athletic meet was being flagged off by the R.K. Mahaling, Chairman of Sport Council, Sambalpur University along with the Principal of the L.N. College G.C. Meher, Co-ordinator Ashok Kumar Bohidar, Ganesh Naik, Narendra Panda, Saroj Kaunwar �were also present in this function.
As per the results of first day events held on Tuesday in 1500mtrs. (Boys) Khayama Sagar Patel of Khariar College stood first, Nadhya Meher of Surajmal College, Rengali stood second and Birendra Bag of L.N. College stood third. In Long Jump, Diren Kumar Kadraka of Panchayat College, Bargarh stood first, Dilip Kumar Bara of Govt. College, Rourkela stood second and Rajesh Kumar Sahoo of Jawarharlal College, Patnagarh stood third. In Girls Category in 400 Mtrs. Lilima Kishan of Govt. Women�s College , Sambalpur was in first place , Lipika Seth of Larmha College , Sambalpur stood second and Sushma Suma of Women�s College Padampur stood third . In 1500 Mtrs. (Girls) Kalpana Dila of Bamra P.S. College, Bamra stood in first position, Lilima Kishan of Govt. Women�s College, Sambalpur stood second place and Sukumani Kahriya of Govt. Women�s College, stood third. In another event shot put (Boys), Mirja Aslam Beg of Sohella Degree College stood first, Md. Chand of Sohela Degree College stood second and Deepak Ku. Singhdeo of Belpahar College, Belpahar stood third.This two days events will be have its closing ceremony on Wednesday.
