Jharsuguda : Yesterday Local Petty contractors who have been working under the Vedanta Aluminum�s contractor named� Mukund Engineering� Pvt. Ltd. had blocked the Gate No.1 from Morning 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. due to none payment of their dues.
According to the sources, the Main Contractor Mukund Engineering Pvt. Ltd. who have taken contracts with Vedanta Aluminum Pvt. Ltd. for painting and erection works and have given jobs to the local contractors but these local contractors have blamed that this company has not paid their dues and have run away from the site. No officers are available in the office to answer their plea.
In this regard, the local contractors have lodged an FIR on 15th November at Badmal Police Station after which the company had assured that payments would be given after 7 days. But till now nothing was done so irritated contractors today had blocked the Gate No. 1 of Vedanta till 3 P.M.
Vedantas Security Officer had also reached the spot and had tried to convince the contractors but after that also the contractors remained unmoved. After much perusal of Badmal Police Office , the contractors had opened the gate on assurance that the Vedanta woul;d try to act as mediator in getting their dues cleared by the company.
List of companies having their duesShri Shyam Engg. Rs. 11 Lakhs , Sudharsan Sahoo Rs. 7 Lakhs , SB Associates Rs. 7 Lakhs , Shri Vinayak Engg. Rs. 3.5 Lakhs , SS Engg. Rs. 5 Lakhs and many others are still waiting for their dues cleared.
