Delhi – Jharsuguda Indigo Flight receives Hoax bomb Threat
Jharsuguda: On Saturday, a hoax bomb threat on the Delhi-Jharsuguda Indigo flight triggered concern among passengers. The incident occurred after the Indigo flight, numbered 6E 458, had taken off from Delhi for Jharsuguda, and had to make an emergency landing at Lucknow Airport for a security check
Indigo Flight Number 6E 458 Delhi – Jharsuguda Flight which was scheduled to arrive at Veer Surendra Sai Airport at 17:25 pm, but after the hoax bomb threat which was received on the social media platform, the Indigo Airlines was alerted and the plane landed at Lucknow Airport and after thorough security checks were done and the flight, was cleared for VSS Airport, Jharsuguda and had landed at 19:39pm
Jharsuguda Airport Director Sandeep Kumar Tiwari said, “Indigo Flight 6E 458, Delhi – Jharsuguda Flight had made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport after it received another bomb threat in social media platform in which it was informed that in about 19 flights, there was a bomb planted on them. Later after thorough security check protocol at Lucknow Airport it was declared as Hoax bomb threat later the flight was cleared for its destination at VSS airport, Jharsuguda and on arrival also the flight will again be thoroughly security checked and then passengers will be allowed to board.”
On 24th October a similar hoax bomb threat was also given on the Bengaluru-Jharsuguda Indigo flight after the flight 6E 125, which had taken off from Bengaluru, prompting a series of security measures at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda. Indigo Flight Number 6E 125 Bengaluru – Jharsuguda Flight arrived at Veer Surendra Sai Airport at 01:05 pm, and after the bomb threat was received on the social media platform of Indigo Airlines was alerted thorough security checks were done and the flight, after undergoing the security check, was cleared for its destination at 16:39 pm.
