District-Level Children’s Festival ‘Utsah’ and ‘Mahak’ 2024 Kicks Off in Belpahar
Jharsuguda: The much-anticipated two-day district-level children’s festival, ‘Utsah’ and ‘Mahak’ 2024, commenced today at the Thakkar Bappa Seva Sadan premises. Organized by the Department of Women and Child Development in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit, the festival aims to nurture and showcase the talents of children from local childcare institutions.
The inaugural day featured an array of sports competitions under the ‘Utsah’ banner, with children participating in events such as 100m and 200m races, long jump, high throw, chess, carom, drawing, dance, and singing. The activities were organized into boys’ and girls’ categories, promoting healthy competition and creativity among the participants. Tajan, a primary and junior high school sports instructor, expertly guided the sports events.
Belpahar Municipal Chairman NC Panda graced the occasion as the chief guest, presenting certificates and prizes to standout participants. He highlighted the significance of supporting children’s talents through such platforms, encouraging them to cultivate their unique abilities.
The event attracted a notable lineup of guests, including District Child Welfare Committee Chairman Ashish Kumar Panda, District Child Protection Officer Sunand Maharana, and District Information and Public Relations Officer Ajay Kumar Jena. A dedicated team of counselors and district officials, including Manas Kumar Mallik and Sameer Kumar Mishra, played key roles in organizing the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
The festival will continue today with a variety of activities designed to inspire and empower the young residents of the district’s childcare institutions.
