Zilla Chhatra Samyuk Submits Memorandum to New Government for Improvement in Higher Education

Jharsuguda: A delegation led by Zilla Chhatra Samyuk’s District Coordinator, Ravi Rohidas, submitted a seven-point charter of demands to the new government and Chief Minister through the Jharsuguda District Collector, urging significant improvements in higher education across the district.

The student organization has been actively agitating across the district over the poor state of the education system in Jharsuguda. Their demands include granting government college status to Laxmi Narayan College, establishing a Government Degree College in the 19 Khand Mauja area, and recognition for mechanical schools and colleges. They also seek solutions to land problems affecting colleges, the introduction of postgraduate (PG) courses at Laxmi Narayan College, and more PG courses across the district. Additionally, the memorandum called for the establishment of an agriculture college and a nursing college.

While some of these demands have already been met, the Zilla Chhatra Samyuk believes the formation of a new government after 25 years offers an opportunity for significant reforms in the higher education sector. The organization has warned that if their demands are not addressed within two months, students across the district will resume their agitation.

The delegation included Jitendraya Dhurua, the central coordinator, along with co-coordinators Asim Patel, Chinki Sahu, Guddi Patra, Bhuvaneshwari Mahanand, Suman Rana, Pallavi Panigrahi, Sangita Kharsel, Ritesh Kumar Patel, Bablu Jaipuria, Trilochan Dansena, Sambit Naik, and Manish Majhi.
