OPGC conducts eye test camp for the periphery villagers under CSR

IB THERMAL: �Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd on Thursday organized an Eye test camp in collaboration with Trilochan Netralaya, Sambalpur aimed at the benefit of the villagers residing in the periphery of IB Thermal Power Station, Banharpali, Jharsuguda.

The camp started at 10 AM at the CSR skill development center located on the IB Thermal campus. Sr. Vice President (Operations) of OPGC Sukanta Kumar Mohapatra inaugurated the camp in the presence of the Chief Medical Officer of ITPS Hospital Dr. Sangeeta Panda, Head (HR & Admin) of OPGC Dr. Ratikant Dash, Sr. Manager (Corp.Comm. & CSR) Himansu Bhusan Behera and other officials of OPGC.

More than 175 persons from 28 villages coming under gram panchayats such as Tilia, Kumbharbandh, Piplikani, Dalgaon, Kushuraloi, and Telenpali attended the camp and tested their eyes. Out of these, 32 persons were diagnosed with cataracts, and 115 patients were provided with powered spectacles free of cost. Out of 32 cataract-detected persons, 23 persons were immediately transported to Trilochan Netralaya to undergo cataract surgery free of cost.

Rajendra Dash (Manager of Admin & outreach) led the team of Trilochan Netralaya which consisted of Dr. Sugyani Tripathy who checked up on the patients along with her team of eye technicians. From the OPGC CSR team Rajendra Sa, Biren Bishi, Ramiyan Chattria, and Manoj Kothia coordinated the camp.
