Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari Trailer: An Entertaining Ride of Laughter between Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee, And Fatima Sana Shaikh

The trailer for Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh, was premiered on Wednesday. The fun 3-minute video gives a clear picture of laughter, enjoyment and entertainment. The film has been slated for a November 13 release in theatres.

The trailer starts with the entry of Diljit Dosanjh into the frame, which introduces the audience to ‘1995 Bombay’. Diljit (Suraj), makes it clear that he is looking for a wife who won’t let his mother leave the kitchen or him leave the bedroom. As indicated earlier, the movie seems to be of the comic genre.

The theme continues, as Soraj’s family goes on to see many girls for his marriage. Sooraj’s English is very weak in the movie, and this makes up for comic lines. But this isn’t the only problem he faces. When Sooraj goes to see a girl he likes, his family shows him pictures of him drinking and asks him to leave. Sooraj mentions that he has only had one beer in his entire life and is surprised as to who clicked his picture.

Manoj Bajpayee as Manoj is an agent who clicks pictures of boys doing anything wrong and shows them to the girl’s family. Sooraj decides to take revenge by tricking his sister (Fatima) into falling in loving with him. The trailer is filled with fun and entertaining scenes. It promises the audiences that if they go to see this movie, they will have a fun time.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Director Abhishek Sharma had compared the film’s tone to the films of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee. In a statement, he’d said, “The film is set in the 90s. We have Manoj sir playing a wedding detective, who does a background check of grooms, which was a norm during those times. There was a time when there was no mobile phone or social media and people had to deal with everything physically. It is very much in the vein of films made by Hrishkesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee. It is a clean family-comedy. It is a funny film but not a slapstick. It is a social satire.”

He added, “It points towards the rashi (zodiac sign), kundali (horoscope), that we talk about more during wedding. At the same time, it is about the cat and mouse between Suraj, which is played by Diljit and Mangal, essayed by Manoj sir.”

Apart from the trio of Diljit, Fatima and Manoj, the film also features Annu Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Nehha Pendse, Manuj Sharma, Neeraj Sood, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Karishma Tanna, Vanshikha Sharma in pivotal roles.

The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Shariq Patel and Subhash Chandra under the banners Zee Studios and Essel Vision Productions. The film will release on November 13, 2020.
