Jharsuguda Woman Police Officer, Savitri Bal Helps a Pregnant Lady travelling in a Shramik Train
Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda woman police officer came to rescue of a pregnant woman, after she complained of labour pain while travelling in a the Shramik Train, which was coming from Secunderabad and heading towards Danapur via Jharsuguda Railway Station on Sunday afternoon.
The woman identified as Payal Kumari (25 years) along with her husband Bal Krishna Prasad alias Rakesh Kumar (27year old) along with his 3 year old boy were travelling from Secunderabad, where her husband was working as a supervisor in a private firm. They had managed to get a seat in the Shramik train (Train No. 07085) in which they were travelling.
Jharsuguda Town Police IIC Savitri Bal said that, ” I was at Jharsuguda Police Station when I received a call from Jharsuguda Railway Station Manager regarding a lady who was in labour pain while travelling in a Shramik train passing at Jharsuguda Railway Station . I along with my other police staff and Tehsildar Golak Bihari Manraj reached Jharsuguda Railway Station and attended the pregnant lady who was accompanied with her husband. As the ambulance got delayed in reaching the spot and the woman was in great pain, we decided to take her on Police PCR vehicle and wanted to shift her immediately to the Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital, but after travelling 500 metres from the Jharsuguda Railway Station, the woman had given birth to a baby girl on the PCR Vehicle itself. We, then somehow managed to admit at Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital . Both woman and her child are completely healthy and fine. Being a woman itself, I feel very good and it will be in my good memories”.
“We belonged from Kripalpur in Bihar. I have been working as a supervisor in a private firm at Secunderabad. Since lockdown we have been facing lots of problem as we didn’t have any money left so we decide to return back to our village. We boarded Shramik Train on 23rd May, afternoon from Secunderabad station for Danapur in Bihar. On 24th May, before reaching Jharsuguda Railway Station, my wife got labour pain and we informed police personnels present on the train, who later informed someone at Jharsuguda railway station, where I saw all police officials along with other had helped my wife, but she delivered the child on the PCR Vehicle. However, both child and my wife are now fine now. I want to thank all people who had helped. ” said Bal Krishna Prasad alias Rakesh Kumar, husband of Payal Kumari
