The Chairperson of the Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal (MWDT), Justice Ms. Bela M. Trivedi, arrived at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: The Chairperson of the Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal (MWDT), Justice Ms. Bela M. Trivedi, arrived at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, on Thursday evening as part of the tribunal’s scheduled visit to Odisha. Justice Trivedi was accompanied by Justice Mrs. Indermeet Kaur Kochhar and Justice S.K. Pathak, along with Chandan Mukherjee (Registrar), Amrendra Kumar Singh (Assessor), Krishnamunni N.M. (Assessor), Anil Dutt Sharma (PPS) and Sujit Kumar Giri (PS). The team arrived from Delhi and immediately proceeded towards Sambalpur.
Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan is also expected to join the team later in the night, arriving at Jharsuguda Airport from Bhubaneswar at around 8.50 pm.
The members of the tribunal will halt for the night at Ashok Niwas in Sambalpur. On the morning of February 27, they are scheduled to visit Hirakud Dam, including the Left Spillway, Burla Power House and Chiplima Power House. The team will also inspect the Hirakud Command Area en route to Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary.
On February 28, the tribunal members will leave for Bhubaneswar to continue their official engagements.
