Jharsuguda Forest Division Launches Forest Fire Awareness Program

Jharsuguda: Under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Dr. Bandana Pasayat, the Bagdihi Forest Division in Jharsuguda conducted a cultural awareness program on forest fire prevention. The initiative aimed to educate local communities about protecting forests from fire hazards and preserving the environment.

The program was held across villages in the Talmunda Section—Barhamusha and Bardhuriam—and the Bagdihi Section—Babuchipidi and Kadobahal. Residents were informed about how forest fires can be avoided throughout the year, spreading the key message: “Let’s all come together to protect the forest from fire.”

Officials and local leaders, including Sarpanch Sabyasachi Sahu, Tikeswar Kanta, Manoj Budula, as well as Section Foresters Ameer Patel, Harendra Sahu, Murari Sahu, and Team Leader Chudamani Behera, actively participated in the program, working alongside the community to promote forest safety and environmental responsibility.

This awareness initiative highlights the importance of community involvement in protecting forests and encourages villagers to take an active role in preventing forest fires and safeguarding natural resources
