International Forest Day Celebrated at Niktimal High School in Kolabira Forest Area.

Jharsuguda: The Department of Forest Environment and Climate Change organized the celebration of *International Forest Day* at the Niktimal Gram Panchayat High School premises, located in the Kolabira forest area under the Jharsuguda forest division.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Laikera Police Station Officer Mr. Dilip Kumar Behera, ACF of Sambalpur RCCF Circle, and former student of Niktimal High School Mr. Yashobanta Karali. Also present were Laikera Block Education Officer Ms. Tanmayee Subhashree Ping, committee member Mrs. Anupama Jaipuria, the headmaster of the high school, and the headmaster of the upper primary school.
The program was presided over by Kolabira Forest Officer Mr. Ghasiram Bibhar. The celebration began with an awareness rally involving students from the village, highlighting the importance of forest protection, wildlife conservation, and forest fire prevention.
Following the rally, environmentalist Mr. Durga Prasad Nayak guided the students in taking a pledge to commit themselves to protecting forests and the environment. The event saw active participation from members of the Niktimal, Thakurpada, and Nayakdihi Forest Protection Committees, along with several volunteers from the Kolabira forest area, contributing to the success of the program.
The celebration aimed to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of forest conservation and sustainable environmental practices.
