Naba Das Murder: Odisha Crime Branch Team Visited His Jharsuguda House to Record Family Statement.

Jharsuguda : A two-member team of the Odisha Crime Branch on Tuesday visited the residence of slain BJD leader Naba Kishore Das at Sarbahal, Jharsuguda, and recorded the statements of his family members in connection with his murder case.

As per sources, the investigating team, comprising Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vijay Mallick and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Diptimayee Mallick, conducted the proceedings at the residence of the deceased leader.

Odisha Crime Branch ASP Vijay Mallick said, “We have recorded the statement of Bishal Das and his sister Dipali Das, whatever they have given the statement we will verify it.”

Naba Das’s daughter, Dipali Das, said, “We received a letter on March 1st from the Odisha Crime Branch stating that they wanted to record our statement and had given us time until March 3rd. However, as we were occupied, we requested them to come on today’s date, i.e., March 18th, and record our statement at our Sarbahal residence. They accepted our request and recorded the statements of me and my brother. Based on our statements, I am confident that the agency will thoroughly investigate the matter.”

Naba Das’s son, Bishal Das, said, “We have prepared our letter, and whenever the Chief Minister grants us an appointment, we will present it to him and discuss the matter with him regarding the next course of action. We have been seeking an appointment with the Chief Minister, and if he grants us one, our CBI request letter is ready. The sooner the CM gives us time, the faster we can handover the letter to him.”

Regarding the Law Minister’s statement, Bishal Das replied, “Initially, they said they would conduct a CBI inquiry. When we requested a CBI inquiry, they asked us to submit it in writing. As per my understanding, there is no need for the family members to submit a written request for a CBI inquiry. If they are genuinely interested, they can initiate it themselves. However, since the Law Minister and other ministers have asked us to submit a written request, we are prepared. Our letter is ready, and as soon as the CM grants us an appointment, we will hand it over to him.”
