Financial Awareness Program Organized in Arda Gram Panchayat

Jharsuguda: A financial awareness and inclusion program was successfully conducted at the Arda Gram Panchayat office under the initiative of the District Savings and Financial Services Department. The event aimed to educate people on safe financial practices, government-backed savings schemes, and digital transactions.
The program was inaugurated by District Financial Services and Savings Officer Sumana Panda, who introduced the distinguished guests. Lead District Manager Shirpani Nayak highlighted the risks associated with chit fund investments and advised attendees on secure savings options.
Addressing the gathering, Jharsuguda Head Post Office Postmaster Basant Kumar Patel elaborated on various small savings schemes, life insurance policies, and the Atal Pension Yojana launched by the Government of India. Sumit Pramanik, Public Relations Officer of India Post Payments Bank, educated attendees about digital banking and cybercrime threats.
The event also saw participation from Panchayat Executive Officer of Arda Gram Panchayat and the Additional District Education Officer (A.D.E.O.), who emphasized the importance of financial literacy in rural development. Officials from the District Savings and Financial Services Department, including Hemakant Bag and Jagannath Raut, played a key role in organizing the event.
Concluding the program, Sumana Panda extended her gratitude to all participants and encouraged them to adopt safe financial habits for a secure future.
