Awareness Campaign on Forest Fire Prevention Conducted in Baghdihi Forest Area.

Jharsuguda: Under the Baghdihi forest area of Jharsuguda forest division, a series of awareness programs were organized to educate the local communities about forest fire prevention. These initiatives were conducted under the supervision of Baghdihi Forest Officer, Ms. Bandana Pasayat, and included cultural programs aimed at spreading awareness in an engaging manner.

The awareness drives were carried out in villages like Barhamusha and Bada Dhuria under the Talamunda section, as well as in Pakelkhol, Bheemjor, Sarasmal, and Kadobahal under the Baghdihi section. The primary objective was to inform the villagers about effective measures to prevent forest fires, keeping in mind the goal of safeguarding the forests in the Baghdihi region this year.

The campaign emphasized the message: “Let us all unite to protect the forest from fire.” Through the use of cultural programs, the initiative sought to reach a wider audience and encourage community participation in forest conservation efforts.

Baghdihi Forest Officer Bandana Pasayat played a pivotal role in leading the initiative, with active support from Forester Murari Prasad Sahu, Ameer Patel, Team Leader Chudamani Behera, and all the staff members of the Baghdihi forest area. Their combined efforts were aimed at building a community-driven approach to forest protection and fire prevention.

The program received positive responses from the villagers, reflecting a growing awareness and willingness to participate in forest conservation activities. The forest department aims to continue such initiatives to ensure sustainable environmental protection and community involvement.
