MLA Tankadhar Tripathy requested the expedited construction of the barrage and bridge over the IB and Bheden rivers.

Jharsuguda: In letters to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, he emphasized the importance of these projects for enhancing irrigation in the region, which would significantly benefit the people of Jharsuguda, particularly farmers.
Tripathy pointed out that in 2014-15, a tender was issued for the construction of a barrage and bridge near the Ib River in Deogaon, but it was later canceled by the Odisha Water Resources Department for unknown reasons. He argued that if these projects are expedited, they could benefit 14 blocks under Jharsuguda and Kolabira, boosting the local economy and generating employment. A survey for this project has already been completed, and the DPR (Detailed Project Report) is ready. Tripathy urged the Chief Minister to intervene for a new tender to expedite the implementation.
In another letter, Tripathy highlighted the need for similar projects on the Bheden River at Katikela, the Thelia River in Raghunathpali, and another location in Bheden at Samasingha. The feasibility report for the Bheden River at Katikela is approved, and the DPR is ready. The DPR for constructing an ISS (Irrigation Storage Structure) on the Thelia River in Raghunathpali has been submitted, and other survey works are completed. Additionally, necessary documents for the project on the Bheden River at Samasingha are ready. Tripathy emphasized that these projects would benefit residents of 12 villages in Jharsuguda and Kolabira blocks, thereby strengthening the economy and improving farmers’ livelihoods.
Given the significance of these projects for the prosperity of the industrial region of Jharsuguda and the welfare of the farmers, Tripathy urged Chief Minister Majhi to intervene personally to ensure the prompt implementation of all these initiatives.
