The 15th Foundation Day of Young Stars Charitable Trust and the 76th Republic Day were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Jharsuguda: On the occasion of its 15th foundation year, the trust announced various social welfare initiatives such as donating 1,000 units of blood, planting 10,000 trees, and rescuing 100 mentally challenged and helpless elderly individuals living on the streets.
In Jharsuguda, at Sarbahal, the Young Stars Charitable Trust celebrated the 76th Republic Day and the 15th Foundation Day with joy and fervor. Bipul Upadhyay, descendant of freedom fighter Ganesh Upadhyay, attended as the chief guest, while Abhaya Kumar Patnaik, a retired officer of the Indian Navy, was the star guest. Descendants of other freedom fighters, including Purushottam Panda, Chamanlal Shrivastav, Sukhdev Shrivastav, Chandra Bagarti, Balabhadra Das, and the president of Jharsuguda Bar Association, Radhakanta Saha, were honored guests.
Other notable attendees included Aditya Pujari, the president of Brahmin Mahasangha Rabindra Dixit, and Sarbahal ward councilor Pushpanjali Panda. The guests hoisted the national flag and shared speeches on the significance of Republic Day. Vivekananda Mishra, the director of Young Stars Charitable Trust, welcomed everyone and shared details about the trust’s activities. Advisor Rajesh Padhi appealed to the public to join hands with the trust in its initiatives, including blood donation and tree plantation.
The program was presided over by Aravind Barik and featured a patriotic group dance competition organized by cultural secretary Alok Chandra Panigrahi. Awards were distributed to winners of a prior painting competition and debate event.
On the occasion of its 15th foundation year, the trust announced that in the past 15 years, it has accomplished 3,500 units of blood donation, planted 1,000 trees, and conducted various other social service activities.
This year, the trust committed to initiatives including 1,000 units of blood donation, planting 10,000 trees, and rescuing 100 mentally challenged and helpless elderly individuals as part of its social responsibility. Aravind Barik emphasized this commitment during the celebrations.
In the second phase of the event, trust members distributed fruits to two leprosy centers in Beheramal, Jharsuguda, in coordination with the district administration.
In the evening, a cultural program was organized, including a patriotic group dance competition. Prominent guests such as Balagobind Mishra, senior journalist Tapaswilal Tiwari, Dr. Jia Ul Haq, Hiralal Lokchandani, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Benugopal Panigrahi, and LN College lecturer Tapan Barik attended and distributed awards.
The trust director, Vivekananda Mishra, along with Fakir Mohan Barik, Dayasagar Pradhan, and others, coordinated the event and honored individuals from various fields. Awards were given to Saroj Kuwar for education, Lakshman for his contributions as a divyang blood donor, Santosh Mishra for journalism, Tirthabasi Patel for social service, Pradeep Bishwal for agriculture, and Kunal Behera for sports.
Trust officials, including Aravind Barik, Vivekananda Mishra, Fakir Mohan Barik, Anant Ram Sahu, Rajesh Padhi, Bijay Saigal, Sameer Ranjan Das, Alok Chandra Panigrahi, Raj Das, Raja Das, Prashant Bhaisya, Jay Krishna Baghar, Bhargav Biratia, Shubham Meher, and others, were present and actively supported the program.
