Jharsuguda : On the eve of 76th Republic Day celebration, a Glow Garden and a 147.6-foot National Flag Mast were officially inaugurated near Prasanna Panda Chowk in Jharsuguda.
The grand ceremony was graced by the presence of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, and Superintendent of Police Smit P. Parmar, President of JSW BPSL Anil Kumar Singh.
This visionary project, aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Jharsuguda city, was made possible through a combined financial contribution of approximately ₹1.5 crore from JSW and Vedanta.
The event saw active participation from JSW BPSL and Vedanta officials, the Executive Officer of the Municipality and other dignitaries who gathered to witness the landmark occasion
The Glow Garden, adorned with captivating lights and artistic installations, is expected to become a major attraction for residents and visitors alike. Alongside, the towering National Flag Mast, standing tall at 147.6 feet, symbolizes unity and patriotism, creating a proud landmark for the city.
Speaking at the event, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the public and private sectors in transforming Jharsuguda into a modern and vibrant city. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in boosting civic pride and promoting Jharsuguda as a progressive urban centre. “It will benefit the residents and even the commuters who will cross this chowk. I want to thank District Administration and Vedanta Ltd. & JSW BPSL, who contributed to it.”
Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy highlighted how these developments reflect the district’s commitment to beautification and infrastructural growth. In a historic moment, as per the people’s demand for a 147.6-foot National Flag Mast has been installed, I want to thank JSW BPSL and Dist. Administration for this installation subsequently, I want to also thank Vedanta Ltd. for the Artificial Glow Garden for the people of Jharsuguda.
