76th Republic Day Celebrated Grandly at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda. The event was marked by the hoisting of the National Flag by Sandeep Kumar Tiwari, Airport Director, in the presence of officials, staff, and their families from the Airports Authority of India (including departments like Airport Operations, Air Traffic Control, Electrical, Commercial, Fire, Human Resource, Technical, Communication, Navigation & Surveillance), Airport Security Unit (Odisha Police), Airlines (IndiGo, Star Air, and Alliance Air), Ground Handling Agencies (AIASL and Subhashish), and other stakeholders, including annual maintenance agencies and concessionaires offering VIP services.
In his address, Tiwari highlighted the significance of Republic Day and emphasized the importance of constitutional values such as Justice, Freedom, Equality, and Brotherhood. He proudly stated that Jharsuguda Airport serves as a vital gateway, connecting Odisha and India to the world while showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant economy, and warm hospitality. He urged everyone to work collectively to make Jharsuguda Airport a model of progress and development.
Tiwari extended a warm welcome to Star Air, which recently introduced three new destinations—Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Raipur—starting January 1 and February 1, 2025. He also congratulated IndiGo Airlines for its upcoming direct flight to Mumbai, set to commence on March 1, 2025.
Additionally, Tiwari provided an update on ongoing development projects aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and infrastructure at Jharsuguda Airport.
The celebration reflected the airport’s commitment to excellence and its role in promoting regional growth and connectivity.
