TRL Krosaki observed World AIDS Day at Belpahar
TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited observed ‘World AIDS Day’ at Belpahar on 01.12.2024 for creating awareness among its employees, contract labours, truck drivers and the public in general. A kickstart programme was organised in front of the Second Gate of the Plant. An Awareness Vehicle playing a folk song sung by employees of TRL Krosaki moved to different places of the town and distributed awareness leaflets in the society. Santosh Kumar Mishra, DGM (PR & CSR) addressed a gathering of employees, contract labours and truck drivers about the theme of this year that is “Take the right path; My Health My Right”. Mishra flagged off the AIDS Awareness Vehicle which started from the second gate of TRL Korsaki and covered different parts of Belpahar. All the persons present in the meeting had worn red ribbon to show their solidarity towards the AIDS affected persons.
Later on the same day, an AIDS identification camp was organized by Association for Voluntary Action (AVA), an organization empaneled by Odisha State Aids Control Society (OSACS) where 42 truck drivers were tested. This programme was organised by PR and CSR Department of the Company in association with Odisha State AIDS Control Society.
World AIDS Day is organised worldwide on 1st December every year. It is an opportunity for people across the globe to be united in the fight against HIV, to show support for the people living with HIV, and to remember those who have lost their lives from AIDS or AIDS related illness. Founded in 1988, World AIDS Day is the first ever global health day. TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited works with Odisha State AIDS Control Society and Health and Family welfare Department of Govt. of Odisha for identification, testing, counselling and medication of AIDS affected persons and creating awareness about the deadly disease. Considering the social stigma and discrimination associated with this disease, secrecy of information is maintained.
