Jharsuguda : Govinda, an inmate of Mission Ashalok in Rajpur Katapali, run by District Administration, District Mineral Fund and People’s Forum, has recovered and returned to his home after 3 years.

Less than 3 years ago, Govinda Manjhi was rescued from near Jharsuguda Collectorate by the rescue team of Mission Ashalok.  Govinda’s mental condition improved through the services, care, regular medication and various types of counseling provided by the institute’s staff.  After recovering, he informed the staff of the institution about his home address.  Mission Ashlok’s staffs were searching for the address he had mentioned.  After many days of searching, Govinda’s house was found to be from Misar Jamua village in Deogarh district of Jharkhand. The staff of the institute found the phone number of the nearest shop through the address given by him with the help of Google Maps.  Using that phone number, the staff contacted his household and Govinda also spoke to his household through video calls.

According to family members, he was suffering from mental illness for a long time and was also taking medicine by seeing a doctor.  Because of that, he lost his mental balance and ran away from home.  After a long time, Govinda was happy and confident when he found his family near him.  Here it is revealed that Govinda’s father, brother and the teacher who taught Govinda in high school also came with his family and reached Mission Ashalok and asked the staff about Govinda’s condition. In the presence of all the staff and inmates, Govinda was sent off with his family in an emotional atmosphere.
