Jharsuguda, November 17 – Career counseling and life skills project “MCL Ki Ek Pahal” program for students studying in class 10th to 12th of the district under the social responsibility program of Mahanadi Coal Field (MCL) in Jharsuguda was launched on Sunday by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Joining this program organized in collaboration with the district administration and MCL, Pradhan said that this step is a sincere effort to show the right path to the students in line with the advice of the National Education Policy. Odisha is a state of skilled people. This step has been taken with the aim of increasing the skills and entrepreneurship of the youth keeping in mind today’s times. Under this program, career counseling will be done for about 14,962 students of Jharsuguda district. The project aims to build their bright future by providing useful advice. The career counseling platform will not only help the students in exploring their career path but will also be of special help in the development of industrially rich Jharsuguda. This innovative program will fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the students of Jharsuguda and build their bright future. Pradhan suggested expanding this program at the district level.
He further said that the National Education Policy is being implemented in the country. The Odisha government has decided to implement the National Education Policy in the field of higher education. The state government is going to launch its own scheme ‘Godavarish Mishra Adarsh ​​Pratya Vidyalaya Yojana’ to establish model schools in all panchayats like the PM School of the Government of India. The Odisha state budget has given emphasis on the development of schools along with the expansion of mid-day meal in schools. On the occasion of Children’s Day, the state government organized an innovative initiative ‘Dokan Mela’ which will make our children entrepreneurs.
Jharsuguda district is the district of entrepreneurs. Children should prepare themselves for this. Pradhan advised the district administration to make plans to take school students to visit the mines, quarries and industrial institutions and places related to history of Jharsuguda and urged them to make Jharsuguda district a pioneer through education. Similarly, the Union Minister expressed happiness over the organization of ‘Pathan Parvan’ for two months with the aim of increasing interest in education among the students of Jharsuguda. He said that making education interesting is a suggestion of the National Education Policy. This is a sincere effort by the district administration towards building a Skilled India.
The “MCL Ki Ek Pahal” program was graced by the Chief Guest Suresh Pujari, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of the Government of Odisha, Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit and MLA Tankadhar Tripathy.
