Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari Holds Public Grievance Meeting, Focuses on Irrigation and Development Issues

Jharsuguda : Odisha’s Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari held a Public Grievance Camp at the DMF Auditorium Hall, Jharsuguda Collectorate, on Saturday. The event was organized in the presence of District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, Superintendent of Police Smit P Parmar, and other government officials. A total of 184 grievances were registered during the camp, with citizens from Lakhanpur, Kolabira, Kirmira, Laikera, Jharsuguda Block, and the three municipalities of Jharsuguda, Brajrajnagar, and Belpahar coming forward to voice their concerns.

The grievances covered a range of issues, including the Garib Kalyan Yojana, Health and sanitation, Pollution, school infrastructure, road communication, and irrigation. Minister Pujari listened attentively to the public’s concerns and assured them of appropriate action.

Speaking to the media, Pujari said, “People from all over the district have presented their grievances. We have noted them in the presence of the District Collector, SP, and other administrative officials. These grievances will be forwarded to the respective departments for further action, and we will follow up on the steps taken.”

In addition to the grievance camp, Minister Pujari held discussions with administrative officials, with a key focus on addressing farmers’ concerns regarding the drought in the region. He stated that instructions have been given to the agriculture department to carry out a primary assessment of the drought situation.

Highlighting the irrigation issues faced by Jharsuguda, Pujari revealed that discussions have been initiated with the Additional Chief Secretary of the Irrigation Department. “An engineering team from the Irrigation Department will visit Jharsuguda in the last week of this month or the first week of the next to review potential irrigation sites. We are committed to improving the irrigation infrastructure, and both the Odisha and Central governments will work together to ensure that water resources in Jharsuguda are utilized efficiently for irrigation,” he added.
