Two-Day Mushroom Farming Workshop Held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Badmal in collaboration with Narasingh Tripathy Charitable Trust
Jharsuguda � A two-day Mushroom Farming Training Workshop was successfully conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Badmal, in collaboration with the Narasingh Tripathy Charitable Trust. The workshop, held under the leadership of trustee Gudia Tripathy, aimed to promote mushroom cultivation as a viable income-generating activity among local women.
Several women from the region participated in the training, where they were provided with hands-on guidance on various aspects of mushroom farming, including cultivation techniques, maintenance, and the potential market for mushrooms. The initiative was geared toward empowering women by equipping them with practical knowledge in agriculture, thereby contributing to their economic independence.
Speaking about the event, Gudia Tripathy, trustee of the Narasingh Tripathy Charitable Trust, highlighted the importance of such workshops in rural areas. “This training is designed to help women develop skills in mushroom farming, which is not only a sustainable agricultural practice but also an opportunity for them to enhance their livelihoods,” she said.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm about the training, stating that the skills they acquired would help them start small-scale mushroom cultivation ventures.
The workshop marks an important step in encouraging agricultural entrepreneurship among women in Jharsuguda, fostering self-reliance, and supporting rural development.
