Vigilance sleuths nabs a Technical Assistant of the Soil Testing Lab for accepting 50K bribe
Jharsuguda: A team of Vigilance sleuths on Thursday nabbed a Technical Assistant of the Soil Testing Lab, working at the Chief District Agriculture Office in Jharsuguda, for accepting a bribe of ?50,000 from a Laboratory Attendant to process a file for facilitating the continuance of his contractual job.
The Vigilance sleuths identified the accused as Ganesh Kalser, Technical Assistant at the Soil Testing Lab in Jharsuguda. According to Vigilance officials, a trap was laid, and Ganesh Kalser was caught while demanding and accepting the bribe of ?50,000 from the Laboratory Attendant (a contractual worker) to process his file for the continuation of his contractual job. The entire bribe amount of ?50,000 was recovered from the exclusive possession of the accused, Kalser, and seized.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance has registered a case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Amendment) Act, 2018, and the investigation is ongoing.
