Jharsuguda MLA Inaugurates new Blood Bank building at Jharsuguda DHH Campus.
Jharsuguda : In a significant development aimed at improving healthcare services, Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy inaugurated a new Blood Bank building at the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital campus in Malimunda on Sunday. This move marks a long-awaited shift of the Blood Bank from its previous location in Mangal Bazaar, which was about 7 kilometers away from the hospital’s current location.
Since the District Headquarters Hospital was relocated from Mangal Bazaar to the new seven-story building in Malimunda in 2018, the Blood Bank had continued to operate from its old site, causing considerable inconvenience to patients and their families. Patients requiring blood transfusions or donations had to travel a significant distance, often in urgent situations, leading to delays and additional stress.
Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy said, After the shifting of Jharsuguda DHH at Malimunda area, the patients had to travel more than 7 kilometers for any type of blood requirement, but now the blood bank has started functioning near the hospital campus itself and will be very helpful for the people who require the blood. Subsequently, the blood donors who regularly donate blood have requested to have a collection center inside the Jharsuguda town, which will be also present as per the need. We are committed to provide all medical facilities and In the coming days, we are working to have a burn unit and ICU also. Simultaneously, we will also see how the Cardiac Care heart hospital will work in full fledged.
