Jharsuguda : For the first time after becoming a minister, Odisha’s Revenue Minister and Brijrajnagar MLA Suresh Pujari joined a Chai pe Charcha at Mohan tea shop in front of Jharsuguda’s office at 7.00 am on Sunday. Jharsuguda is an intellectual, journalist, lawyer, doctor, CA, and social worker. He met workers, and educators and had a friendly discussion.
On this occasion, the Vice-President of Odisha Hockey Association and senior member of Jharsuguda Hockey Association, Jiban Mohanty briefed the Revenue Minister about the progress of hockey in Jharsuguda district and the sanctioned astroturf. Due to the department’s indifference, the work’s non-commencement even after getting the approval for a long time has disappointed the hockey lovers and players in particular.
Mohanty informed that in Odisha only Jharsuguda district has released souvenirs in hockey and revealed the proof of district Hockey games. Jharsuguda district Odisha school hockey competition won second place and two students represented the Odisha team. He spoke to the chief engineer over the phone and instructed them to start the work related to the astroturf of the hockey ground.
The minister said that when he was studying hockey in Sundargarh district, his school was the national
champion mentioned. Further, the development of hockey in Jharsuguda district will be given special attention by the state government, he said.
It is worth noting here that Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, during the previous Parliament, D.D. for the construction of a hockey stadium in Jharsuguda. Although sanctioned funds from the D M. Fund, expressed regret that the work could not be done for more than two years and promised to extend all help to make the Khelo India Centre.Â
