10-day Annual Training Camp of NCC held at OSAP

Jharsuguda: The 10-day second annual training camp under the aegis of Air Squadron Flying NCC, Jharsuguda, was inaugurated on Friday, 21st June 2024, at the OSAP 2nd Battalion Campus. The camp commenced under the guidance of Wing Commander Tapas Ojha.

The camp witnessed the participation of more than 400 cadets from 16 schools across seven districts of Odisha, namely Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, and Kalahandi. The registration process saw a high level of enthusiasm among the cadets eager to commence their NCC training.

Wing Commander Tapas Ojha addressed the cadets during the first session of the second day, providing an overview of the NCC and its significance. A notable highlight of the camp was the introduction of the range firing exercise for senior cadets, organized by the 2 (Odisha) Air Squadron Flying NCC, Jharsuguda. This marked a significant achievement for both the unit and the cadets involved.

In the afternoon session of the second day, Jharsuguda DSP James Samad delivered an informative session on cyber security, discussing the associated threats and preventive measures in detail.

On the third day, the cadets engaged in fire drills conducted by the fire department. Fire Officer Arun Toppo provided a comprehensive briefing on fire-fighting techniques, allowing the cadets to learn and practice the use of fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment.

The 10-day camp continues to provide valuable training and experiences for the participating cadets, fostering discipline, teamwork, and practical skills essential for their growth and development.
