Woman arrested for killing her daughter

Jharsuguda :� Presuming his two-year-old girl child was the only obstacle to leave her husband and move on in her life, a 26-year-old woman murdered her two-year daughter and fled away from her in-laws house She allegedly, gagged her daughter’s mouth and nose using a pillow, under Lakhanpur Police station limits in Jharsuguda district.

On Wednesday, Lakhanpur Police arrested the woman from the Odisha � Chhattisgarh border while trying to cross the state border along with ornaments & Mobile phones.

The police identified the woman as Jharana Bag (26), a resident of Godgahana of Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.

As per the Police officials, on Tuesday, a complaint was filed by one Bidhyadhar Bag (30), a resident of Khaliabahal, who had married one Jharana Bag, a resident of Godgahana of Raigarh in Chhattisgarh in the year 2021.� Since then, every day he used to go work�at�7 am and return to the house by the evening. But on 19th March, when he was on duty, he�received information through his phone that his wife Jharana has fled away from his house.� On receiving the information, he returned and found that she had allegedly murdered his two-year-old�daughter and fled away from the house with a mobile and some ornaments. Meanwhile, the two-year-old daughter was shifted to the CHC, Lakhanpur where she was declared dead.

Lakhanpur Police officials had registered a case and investigated the matter.

During the investigation, it was ascertained that the husband and the accused woman got married in the year 2021 and were blessed with one girl child in the year 2022. However, the accused, Jharna was not getting well with her in-laws and often she used to quarrel and always presumed that due to her daughter only she has been suffering and on Tuesday morning, finding an opportunity she killed her 2-year-old daughter by gaging her mouth and nose by help of a pillow and decamped from the house with gold & silver ornaments and one mobile phone.

Lakhanpur Police arrested the accused Woman from the Odisha � Chhattisgarh Border at Kanaktora while crossing the state border along with an�ornament and mobile phone.

SPDO Brajrajnagar Chintamani Pradhan Said, �We have arrested her from the Odisha � Chhattisgarh Border and after interrogation, she agreed to have committed to this crime. She has been forwarded to Court and the court has sent her to judicial custody.�
