Jharsuguda RPF Officer saved life of a passenger
Jharsuguda : In a remarkable display of courage and quick response, Assistant Sub-Inspector C S Azad, of Jharsuguda Railway Protection Force (RPF), averted a potential tragedy at Jharsuguda Railway station on January 26, 2024. The incident occurred during the routine station checking of trains undertaken by the officers and staff of Jharsuguda RPF Post.
At approximately 01:52 pm, Train Number 12812 Hatia – LTTE Express was leaving Platform No. 01 when a male passenger attempted to board the moving train. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell into the gap between the platform and the train.
ASI C S Azad wasted no time and sprang into action, risking his own life to rescue the individual from the dangerous predicament. With swift and decisive measures, he successfully pulled the passenger from the gap, preventing any harm or injury. RPF Police officials identified the passenger, as Suresh Jasuja, a 54-year-old male, resident of Sundargarh District (Odisha), who was going to Raipur.
Remarkably, despite the harrowing incident, Suresh reported no injuries or harm. Expressing gratitude, he extended his thanks to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for the timely and heroic intervention that undoubtedly saved his life. Authorities commend ASI C S Azad for his prompt and selfless action in preventing a potential tragedy at Jharsuguda Railway station.
