Rengali Police Cracks Dacoity Case, Arrests Accused
Jharsuguda: Rengali police have cracked a dacoity case that occurred on the intervening nights of December 6 and 7, 2023, in Kanaktora village. The accused had entered the house of complainant Sadananda Biswal and committed dacoity, taking away a gold neck chain at gunpoint. They also stabbed two family members during the incident.
After the case was registered, Superintendent of Police (SP) Jharsuguda formed a special team led by the Inspector in Charge (IIC) of Rengali Police Station and Inspector B.K. Rao from the headquarters. The team also included Sub-Inspector S. Nayak and other staff members.
Using intelligence and technical support, the police arrested four accused persons on December 15, 2023. They were identified as SK Sahajada (50), Md. Sahil (26), Gulfam Ali (20), and Sekh Nawab (30), are all residents of Regent Market of Sundargarh district.
The police also seized the weapon of offense from the accused. A Country-made pistol; a knife, Two mobile phones. The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
