Special Camps Organised for Differently Abled Children in Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : In a noble initiative, Jharsuguda Dist. Administration under the direction of Jharsuguda District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane organized a Special camp for differently-abled children under the program ‘Every child is special’, on the occasion of Children Day, with an aim to provide all types of assistance and help to the children suffering from various disabilities of the Jharsuguda District.
The Special Camp was organized at Naba Das Auditorium. In this camp, a total of 356 children were provided various services including ration cards, Bus passes, identity cards, etc. with the presence of all concerned departmental officers.� Even Special free Vehicles were also provided for the parents and children to attend this special camp from various Blocks of the District.
Jharsuguda District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane also attended the camp and directed the concerned authorities to distribute tricycles to disabled children and to provide all kinds of facilities. Similarly, District Zilla Parishad Chairman Tulabati Minj and Jharsuguda Municipality Chairman Rani Hati also joined and distributed clothes to the children
District Child Protection Officer Sunananda Maharana coordinated the program. District Social Protection Officer Gopalakshmi Hota, District Social Welfare Officer P. Helen Khes, District Labour Officer Sunita Kisan, and District Employment Officer Sangeet Meher contributed to the management of the program.
Jharsuguda Chief Development Officer cum Executive officer Zilla Parishad Prabir Kumar Naik said,� As per the direction of Jharsuguda District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, A special Camp under �Every Child is Special�, was organized the main aim of this special camp was to provide independent help to children having any type of disabilities. In this camp people and children from all five blocks of the district had come and participated in this event, Disabled children along with their parents and guardians have also come here. Separate Clothes have been provided to the children suffering from Autism. Apart from this, they have been provided with Bus Passes, Ration Card, and Medical assistance which they are entitled to. On the occasion of Children’s Day, it was a noble initiative of our District Collector to organize this for the first time in the districts. Subsequently, With the District Collectors initiative a District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) has already been opened at Jharsuguda Dist. Head Quarter Hospital. It provides early intervention services to children with disabilities, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy. It is just the beginning and in the coming days more initiatives will be taken.�
