Jharsuguda: Improving the quality of education in the state is the top priority of the BJP government, said School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond while attending the three-day Golden Jubilee celebration of PM Shri High School, Purunabasti, as chief guest.

The minister stated that since the BJP government came to power, 22,000 teachers have been appointed, and another 45,000 teachers will be recruited over the next three years. He also announced that the system of contractual teacher appointments will be completely discontinued in the future. The New Education Policy has already been implemented across the state, he added.

Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, who attended as guest of honour, said the district is leading the state in the education sector. He highlighted government initiatives to attract children to schools at the primary level and informed that, for the first time, education in the Sambalpuri language has been introduced in the district to engage students better.
