DEIC in Jharsuguda Gets Advanced Physiotherapy Equipment for Children with Disabilities
Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) has been equipped with advanced physiotherapy equipment under the “Every Child is Special” program. The equipment will be used to provide specialised treatment to children with disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome.
The DEIC is a collaboration between the Social Security, Empowerment, and Persons with Disabilities Department (SSEPD) and the Women and Child Development Department. It provides early intervention services to children with disabilities, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy.
The new physiotherapy equipment will allow the DEIC to provide more comprehensive and effective treatment to children with disabilities. The equipment includes a tilt table, a treadmill, and a range of other devices.
The DMF has also agreed to provide specialised manpower to operate the equipment. This will ensure that children with disabilities receive the highest quality of care.
The “Every Child is Special” programme is a flagship initiative of the Government of Odisha. It aims to provide early intervention services to all children with disabilities, regardless of their economic background.
The programme has been successful in providing much-needed support to children with disabilities and their families. The new physiotherapy equipment at the DEIC will further improve the quality of services available to these children.
