Banjari Kriyanusthan committee meeting held : ‘Public Hearing for Vedanta Kudaloi A North Coal block on August 1 to be opposed’

Jharsuguda :� In a public meeting held in Jaybudia on Friday under the banner of the Banjari Kriyanusthan Committee, the Kudaloi locals have decided to oppose the public hearing for Vedanta Kudaloi A North Coal block to be held on August 1 at Pipilimal by State Pollution Control Board. Brajrajnagar MLA Alaka Mohanty assured her support in the protest. Hundreds of locals of Banjari, Bartap, Chaurimahul, Kudaloi, Jaybudia villages attended the meeting. It may be noted that a company would excavate 8 million tonnes of coal from Kudaloi A North coal block spread over 965.58 hectares area which covers Pipilimal, Dhauramunda, Kudaloi, Belpahad, Banjari, and Bartap villages of Lakhanpur tehsil. An advertisement was published stating that State Pollution Control Board would hold a public hearing in Pipilimal Mouja on August 1st.

Apart from this, the Belpahar Municipality Chairman Bulu Panda has also expressed to oppose this Public Hearing.
