Jharsuguda : In a bizarre incident, a security guard posted at Laikera Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Jharsuguda District, was found checking the blood pressure (BP) of a patient in the absence of a doctor. The matter came to light after his video went viral on social media platforms.
As per the sources, the security guard posted at Laikera PHC, would usually attend to the patients in the absence of the doctor apart from his duty. He also attends to the patients, enters their names in the register, checks their temperature, Blood Pressure and also prescribes their medicines instead of the doctor or pharmacists.
After this incident came to light, Jharsuguda Chief District Medical Officer formed a five-member team to probe the incident and after that the doctor who was identified as Dr. Tankeswar Budula was transferred to Remata Primary Health Centre in Lakhanpur Block.
Jharsuguda Chief District Medical Officer Dr Dolamani Patel said, “We have conducted an enquiry and found that there were lapses. We have transferred Dr. Tankeswar Budula to Remata Primary Health Centre in Lakhanpur Block and we have also removed the security guard posted at Laikera PHC from the duty.”
