State Food Commission Reviews Food Security Schemes in Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: The State Food Commission visited Jharsuguda on a two-day visit and reviewed various programs under the Food Security Scheme in the district.
The commission visited the shops of the supply department at Hirma and Kudpali and inspected the boards and registers. They understood the common distribution system by asking whether the rice was being distributed properly to the beneficiaries.
Later, the commission inspected the lunch materials used in the local schools and inquired about the nutritional food and medicines given to the malnourished children at the Nutrition Centre at the District Head Hospital.
In the review meeting held at the District Mineral Fund Conference House, Commission Chairman Abanikant Sahu and Commission Advisor Tamal Reza, District Council Chief Development Officer, and Executive Officer Tapiram Majhi, Additional District Collector (General) Prabir Kumar Naik, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Lankeshwar Amat, and district-level officials were present.
The commission was satisfied with the implementation of the Food Security Scheme in Jharsuguda. However, they directed the officials to ensure that the rice is distributed properly to the beneficiaries and that nutritional food and medicines are given to the malnourished children on a regular basis.
