District Project Monitoring Committee conducts a surprise visit to the Rehabilitation center run by Peoples Forum
Jharsuguda : District Project Monitoring Committee members of Jharsuguda District visited surprisingly the Rehabilitation centers supported by District Mineral Foundation and Implemented by the People’s Forum and enquired about facilities given by the institution and verify staff positions are in place. The Visiting centers are Mission Ashra-I, Mission Ashra-II, Mission Aashalok-I & Drug De-addiction Center located at various locations in Jharsuguda District. This Committee directly guided and leadership of the Additional District Magistrate, Lankeswar Amat, District Social Security Officer, Gopalaxmi Hota, Sub Divisional Social Security Officer, Pratibha Behera, Educationalist & Social Activist Kabita Panda, The officers from District Mineral Foundation Ms. Nishi Padma and Social Activist Jiban Mohanty and the staffs of the district Social Security Section Ms. Sushmita Bhoi, Aditya Bagi, Pradyumna Panigrahi Participated in inspection and verified all the records & Documents of each center properly and also the work procedures.
The team Directly Interact with the staff and inmates of the respective centers and appraised the staff for their dedication towards the care & treatment of mentally ill both male & female persons. Here it is mentioned that there are extra inmates residing in every center than the approved Govt. sanction capacity. Presently in Mission Ashra-I-130 inmates with two children, Mission Ashra-II- 92 inmates with one child, Mission Aashalok-130 inmates, and in DDC-33 inmates are under treatment in the centers. Many Inmates are cured by the Treatment given by the Centers. Further to say there are 380 mentally ill women, 349 inmates of Mentally ill male persons & 495 drug addict persons who get cured and attached to the main stream of society.
