District Mineral Foundation Executive Committee Meet Held

Jharsuguda: The 19th Executive Committee meeting of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) was held in the District Council Convention Hall on June 12 (Monday). The meeting was chaired by district collector Aboli Sunil Narwane.

The meeting reviewed the expenditure on various projects and programmes under the DMF grant. To date, 958 crore has been spent, and 279.28 crore has been saved from 1,232.33 crore fund. Ongoing projects and programmes were also discussed.

The District Magistrate ordered that the restoration and beautification work of dams, canals, and ponds be completed by the end of June. A decision has also been taken to electrify all the organ centres in the district using DMF funds. The concerned departmental officers were directed to submit the investment letter in due time regarding the project details.

The meeting was also attended by Superintendent of Police Smith P. Parmar, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Tapiram Majhi, DMF Team Leader Nalini Das, and officials from various line departments and the district level.

The DMF is a statutory body established by the Government of India to collect and utilize funds from the mining sector for the development of local areas affected by mining. The DMF has been successful in implementing a number of projects in the district, including the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, and other infrastructure.
