Memorandum for demanding resumption of flight services at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : A three member delegation including Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak , Sundergarh MLA Smt. Kusum Tete and State Secretary of BJP Odisha, Tankadhar Tripathy met Minister of Civil Aviation & Steel Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and submitted a memorandum requesting him to resume the flight services at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda
As per the memorandum which stated, “VSS Airport is the only airport, where we all people of western Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are dependent on all the SpiceJet Flights from VSs Airport, Jharsuguda but either those flights have been cancelled or closed their services, for which people from nearby are facing a lot of problems. Even Delhi flights from here are not operating on a continuous basis.
“It is our sincere request from us to revive the air services from any flight company to places like Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Mumbai, Delhi regularly. Also request to start flights to Ranchi and Jaipur. As this is a new airport, requesting to extend the “Udaan” scheme for three more years for which we will be obliged forever.”
As per report, at present winter schedule, Spicejet airlines is operating flight service only for Delhi sector, while Alliance air is operating flights for Bhubaneswar & Kolkata.
