Sexual Abuse Case: Head of Institution arrested

Jharsuguda :  Head of an institution was arrested and forwarded to court on Wednesday for allegedly involved in the sexual abuse case of a minor boy, while he was studying at his institution. 

Police identified the accused as John P. Bridge,(68), the founder and Director of Faith Outreach institution based in Cox Colony, Jharsuguda

As per the complaint filed by the complainant, on 14th August 2020 at Jharsuguda Police station. The complainant said that he was studying at Faith Outreach since Nursery and when he was in Class nine (a minor), the complainant along with the accused had gone to his native place at Rayagada in the month of December, during Christmas, to do Christmas Shopping, while they were returning back to Jharsuguda in a Tata Sumo vehicle, he was sitting on the front side, when the accused had allegedly caught his hand and thigh and private part from behind. Based on this, a case was lodged on Jharsuguda Police Station under Section 341 IPC (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 10 POCSO Act (aggravated sexual assault ), 3(i) (r), 2 (va) of SC ST (POA) ACT.  

Jharsuguda Superintendent of police Rahul PR said, ” Based on the allegation given by a complainant an enquiry was conducted, on the prima facia, the allegation was found to be true and evidence were collected and we arrested the founder of Faith outreach. However, an investigation is going on.”

Faith Outreach is a non-profit organisation who has been providing education to the tribal students at their institution situated at Cox Colony, Jharsuguda.
