STF nabs 3 people and recovers three leopard skin from their possession
Jharsuguda: In a significant breakthrough the Special Task Force (STF) nabbed three people with skins of three leopards from Malidihi Chowk in between Jharsuguda – Kuchinda Road under Kolabira Police station of Jharsuguda District and at Palsamal Village under Jujumura Police station in Sambalpur District.
STF officials identified the accused as Sumit Kumar Patel of Jogidihi village, Malidihi under Kolabira Police Station of Jharsuguda District , Krupa Sahoo of Sudupada Village under Bolangir Town Police station of Bolangir District and Aditya Patra of Palsamal Village under Tampargarh under Jujumura Polcie station of Sambalpur District.
As per report, On getting reliable inputs, a team of Special Task Force conducted a raid with the help of Jharsuguda & Sambalpur District Police on 14th and 15th October at Malidhi Chhaka in between Jharsuguda – Kuchinda road of Kolabira P.S under Jharsuguda District and at village Palsamal, Tampargarh, Jujumura police station under Sambalpur District regarding dealing and possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals.
During search (03) three numbers of Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. Subsequently, the accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such Leopard Skins, for which they were arrested.
In this connection, STF registered a case under section 379/411/413/120(B) IPC & Sec.51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 , while the investigation is still on
