Jharsuguda : Seven employees of JSW BPSL were dead while more than 20 sustained severe injuries after a coal laden truck collided with a JSW BPSL Employee bus which was returning from the Plant near Sarbahal Biju Expressway on Friday evening at 6:30 pm
Police identified the seven deceased has been identified as Rajendra Tiwari, Sher bahadur, Brijpal Singh, Pankaj Jha , Dhan Kumar Ray and Rajesh Singh.
As per report, at around 6:30 pm in the evening, JSW BPSL Route no. 15 bus (bearing no. OD 23 M 8131) carrying plant Employees was coming from the Sambalpur when a Coal Laden Truck (bearing no. OD -16 G 0950) coming from the opposite side hit the bus head on and dragged the bus for a few meters at Sarbahal Near Nikhil Dhaba. The collision was so intense that the employees sitting on the left side of the bus had sustained severe injuries. Immediately the local people and other employees had shifted the injured to the Jharsuguda District headquarter hospital.
Meanwhile Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal has also visited the Jharsuguda District headquarter hospital and ensure best medical treatment for the injured.
Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal said, “Many people has been injured around 8 people has been referred to VIMSAR and some people are under treatment in Samleswari hospital. Jharsuguda Dist. Headquarter hospital will provide free treatment for the victims and those getting treated at Samleswari hospital, District administration will bear the expenses of the treatment.”
Jharsuguda SDPO Nirmal Mohapatra said, “JSW BPSL Employees were returning from work and met with an accident with a truck. All the injuries have been shifted to Jharsuguda District Headquarter hospital and are getting treatment. We are investigating the incident.â€
