Jharsuguda Police busted Hanuman Coin Trade Racket, five held
Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda police on Tuesday busted an antique Hanuman Coin trade racket by arresting five persons in Jharsuguda .
The Police identified the accused as Sunny Kumar (37), Dasarath Soreng (32), Madhav Minz (32), Hasan Khan (44 ) residents of Sundargarh whilee Tinku Jouda (32), was a resident of Kutrajore of Sambalpur
Jharsuguda SDPO Nirmal Mohapatra said, “On 27th August, one Rabindra Kumar Das, who is a resident of Kendrapara and is working as a private Civil Contractor in Jharsuguda had filed a complainant regarding a cheating and robbery case. As per the complainant, few days before he came across a person who had made a friendship with him and had told there is a Hanuman Coin present, whose value is huge in International Market and it is present with someone in Laikera Block and he has agreed to sell off at a price of Rs. 1 Lakh and after purchasing the coin, once sold it will fetch around Rs. 6 lakhs and the profit can be shared among them. On believing him, complainant Rabindra had arranged Rs. 1 lakh and had gone accompanied them to buy that coin but in between, the gang members snatched away the money and his mobile phone from him and fled away with the cash. After which Rabindra had filed a complaint at Jharsuguda Police station.
They have been running this racket by convincing people that the coin holds a very high price in International Market. Presently, we have seized two duplicate Hanuman Coins, a Car, a Bike and five mobiles, Cash amount of Rs. 90,000 and other materials. This racket use to target people of Sundergarh, Sambalpur and Sonepur. However, we are investigating that how many people have been cheated by this gang.
Subsequently, I want to request every one that Hanuman Coin Trade is a Hypothetical thing and please don’t fall prey to such type of Hanuman Coin Racket. If anyone has been cheated then immediately report to the police, who will nab the culprits.”
