Chief Secretary lays the Foundation stone of OPGC’s FGD Project
Jharsuguda: Chief Secretary, Odisha Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, laid the foundation stone of Flu Gas De-sulphurisation System (FGD) of OPGC Units 1 & 2 at a special function held here on Saturday
OPGC is establishing FGD system to comply the fresh guidelines laid out by MoEF. Implementation of Wet Limestone Based Flue Gas Desulphurization System (FGD) will result in abatement of Sulphur Oxides (Sox) emission and Flue Gas Conditioning System (FGC) for Particulate Matter (PM) abatement.
In his address to the OPGC employees present in the audience, the Chief Secretary expressed his satisfaction on the improved operational performance of all the four units. With a healthy PLF, OPGC is set to scale new heights, he said. Revenue Divisional Commissioner (ND) Dr. Suresh Chandra Dalai, IAS along with Collector & District Magistrate, Jharsuguda Saroj Kumar Samal were present on this occasion. Managing Director of OPGC Ltd. Prashant Kumar Mohapatra, in his opening address thanked the state government machinery to have provided all the help needed for running the plant operations smoothly. Director (Operations) Manas Ranjan Rout gave the customary vote of thanks.
