Plantation drive organized at VSS Airport, Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda : Under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022’ campaign, to reinforce the significance of plants in Environmental Conservation, a mass ‘Tree Plantation drive’ has been conducted at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, Odisha on 7th June 2022.

The event was carried out ensuring people participation involving all the Officers & Employees of AAI -Jharsuguda, Passengers, Airlines Staffs, Security personnel, Contractual staff etc.

The plantation drive was headed by Hiranya Kumar Nayak, Regional Officer, Odisha State Pollution Control Board and his team of Environment Scientists as Guests of Honour.

Around 52 saplings of diverse varieties such as Neem, Papaya, Cinnamon, Karanj (Pongame oil tree), Putranjiva and Baul were planted on the Lawns in front of Terminal Building, ATC Building & in AAI Residential colony, Jharsuguda.

“The only and the simple way to protect our environment is by planting trees”, said Sh. Hiranya Kumar Nayak, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board.

All the stakeholders took the oath to ensure the survival of each and every sapling planted during the drive.
